About this identification

This mature, wide-trunked tree shows the same fine, twice-divided feathery foliage as the younger yellow flames of the avenue, on strongly ridged limbs. A flowering close-up would complete the record.

Identified from photographs of bark, leaves, fallen litter and epiphytes against the Malaysian campus-tree flora. Moderate and tentative records would be settled by a close-up of flowers or fruit.

Species reference: Peltophorum pterocarpum
