About this identification
The fine, feathery sprays of twice-divided leaves with rows of tiny oblique leaflets, seen in the close crops, match the yellow flame, one of the most planted Malaysian lakeside trees. Its flaking brown bark and slender, early-branching trunk agree. Flowers or seed pods would confirm it beyond doubt.
Identified from photographs of bark, leaves, fallen litter and epiphytes against the Malaysian campus-tree flora. Moderate and tentative records would be settled by a close-up of flowers or fruit.
