Malayan banyan

A smooth grey trunk fans into upright limbs above spreading surface roots, with a dense crown of small, glossy, oval leaves drawn to a slender drip tip, the standard form of the Malayan banyan street fig. Small paired figs on the twigs would confirm the genus.

Identified from photographs of bark, leaves, fallen litter and epiphytes against the Malaysian campus-tree flora. Moderate and tentative records would be settled by a close-up of flowers or fruit.
