About this identification

The trunk and main limbs are draped in hanging fern mats, the classic Malaysian rain-tree look, and the tree's own leaves resolve into pinnate blades with paired, asymmetrical leaflets under a broad umbrella crown. Pom-pom flowers or flat pods would confirm.

Identified from photographs of bark, leaves, fallen litter and epiphytes against the Malaysian campus-tree flora. Moderate and tentative records would be settled by a close-up of flowers or fruit.
