About this identification

Shoots of this small, open-crowned tree end in hand-like clusters of about five radiating leaflets, the palmate leaf of the trumpet tree, and a pink flower bud is visible near the top. A blooming crown of trumpet-shaped pink flowers would confirm it.

Identified from photographs of bark, leaves, fallen litter and epiphytes against the Malaysian campus-tree flora. Moderate and tentative records would be settled by a close-up of flowers or fruit.
