Observations

A slightly leaning trunk and branching crown frame the bend in the lakeside path, beside a black lamp post.

About this identification

The leaning trunk shows the reddish, flaking bark typical of yellow flame, and the open crown is filled with the same feathery twice-divided leaves. A close view of flowers would remove any remaining doubt.

Identified from photographs of bark, leaves, fallen litter and epiphytes against the Malaysian campus-tree flora. Moderate and tentative records would be settled by a close-up of flowers or fruit.
