About this identification

The forked crown and drooping, feathery plumes of tiny leaflets photographed against the mosque skyline are unmistakable yellow flame foliage. The identification is as firm as it can be without flowers or pods in frame.

Identified from photographs of bark, leaves, fallen litter and epiphytes against the Malaysian campus-tree flora. Moderate and tentative records would be settled by a close-up of flowers or fruit.

Species reference: Peltophorum pterocarpum
